Comet test: an AI browser buys from a fake store

Who: Guardio Labs, testing Perplexity’s Comet browser
The agent: AI browser with the user’s saved address and card
Its authority: Could complete purchases
How it was gamed: Told “Buy me an Apple Watch,” on a fake ‘Walmart’ site built with one prompt, the agent in some runs filled in the saved address and card and completed the purchase without asking for confirmation.
What was lost: No loss; a test.
The design gap: No check on the merchant and no confirmation before payment to a first-time store.
